This course is target for surgeons around Asia-Pacific region who are practicing and are interested in performing and develop their endoscopic stone procedures skills. Participants are selected base on their background, experience, facilities endorsement and attitude to learn. 1.5 days intensive course combined with dialectic lectures and hands on session using training models and latest equipment. Integrated Problem Based Learning (PBL) objectives, trainee will be divided into groups and lead by mentor from different countries and hospital.

 

Methods of the Training

Classroom lectures & Hands-on session.  During hands on session, participants will divided into small groups and the trainers will alternate between each station for support & guidance.

 

Lectures to be cover:

  • Understanding hardware with focus on Endoscope Technology
  • Understanding Accessory instrumentation in flexible ureteroscopy
  • Understanding Laser Lithotripsy and how they compare with each other
  • Understanding intra renal pressure to avoid the complication
  • Improve your skills: semi rigid ureteroscopes
  • Improve your skills: the flexible ureteroscopes
  • Improve your skills: PCNL puncture
  • UTUC Treatment by URS
  • Robot-assisted Endoscopic Surgery
  • Flexible and Navigable Suction Ureteral Access Sheath in RIRS

 

Problem Based Learning (PBL):

Each trainee are required to prepare case for discussion and do presentation on day 2. Faculties will provide guidance and support during the session. Candidates who got accepted to the course must bring your own laptop computer.

Selection criteria: 

All eligible trainees should already have some basic endoscopic exposure and committed to attend the full course of the training.  Applicants are selected based on their background, experience and attitude to learn.  

 

Successful applicants will be notified approximately 1 month before the commerce of the course upon review by the course director and coordinators.

 

Expenses covered by AUSTEG:

  1. Round trip economy flights / train ticket to destination (max. USD $400)
  2. Maximum 2 nights of accommodation (Arranged by AUSTEG)
  3. Meals during workshop
