Methods of the Training
Classroom lectures & Hands-on session.  During hands on session, participants will divided into small groups and the trainers will alternate between each station for support & guidance.
 
Lectures to be cover:
  • Principles in management of blood vessel, bowl, liver, spleen and pancreas injury 
  • Tips and tricks in dealing with the blood vessel, bowl, liver, spleen and pancreas injury with laparoscopical technique 
  • Vessel injury and repair – from real clinical practice 
 
Hands-on training - Wet lab laparoscopic procedures (live pigs)
  • Management of renal artery/vein
  • Management of IVC injury
  • Management of bowl injury
  • Management of liver/spleen injury
  • Management of external iliac artery/vein injury

Selection criteria: 
All eligible trainees should already have some basic endoscopic exposure and committed to attend the full course of the training.  Applicants are selected based on their background, experience attitude to learn.  Participants are highly selective with some already attended the A-BLUS Course previously.
 
Successful applicants will be notified approximately 1 month before the commerce of the course upon review by the course director and coordinators.
 
Expenses covered by AUSTEG:
  1. Round trip economy flights / train ticket to destination (max. USD $500)
  2. Maximum 2 nights of accommodation (Arranged by AUSTEG)
  3. Meals during workshop
